Rapid rates continue to move with wholesale energy. The spread between the cheapest and dearest network is wider than most drivers assume.
Several UK charging networks have adjusted rapid pricing, continuing a pattern of movement that tracks wholesale energy costs with a lag.
What to take from it
Do not memorise a price. These change often enough that a remembered figure is unreliable within months.
Watch the whole cost, not the headline rate. Session fees, minimum spends and idle charges shift the real cost per mile substantially, especially on short top-ups. Our normalised comparison accounts for all of them.

The most valuable moves remain structural rather than tactical:

- Ask about workplace charging
- Check your council's on-street provision
